Enrych Supports Government Kick Start Scheme

The Kickstart Scheme was launched by the UK government to create a number of new 6-month job placements for young people who are currently on Universal Credit and at risk of long-term unemployment. The job placements are aimed at supporting the participants to develop the skills and experience they need to find permanent work after completing the scheme.

Enrych joined the scheme several months ago and has since recruited three people to join their busy office.

Lucy, one of the Enrych Kick Start employees joined in May and works in the office administration team organising rotas and speaking to clients and personal assistants.

Lucy said "I joined kickstart after struggling to find my footing in the working world. Kickstart offered me the amazing opportunity of developing key skills for the workplace, while gaining the experience needed and desired by future employers." Lucy explained, "I have gained various skills from working with Enrych from the many opportunities they have provided me with: one of which was to be a part of running the amazing Feel-Good Café - this gave me a huge boost in confidence and enabled both my leadership skills and people skills to grow.

Lucy went on "The kickstart experience as a whole has resulted in me discovering a talent for dealing with people and a passion for being a part of a company that provides support to individuals in need. Once my kickstart has ended if I am unable to continue with Enrych I will use my skills to go on to a find a career in the care system."

Lucy's placement will finish in November at which point a decision will be made as to whether there is a role available for her, if there isn't Lucy will use the training she has been given to apply for vacancies, write her CV and prepare for interviews.
