Friends of Enrych Meet for first time

Thursday saw the first meet up for the brand new social group 'Friends of Enrych' at The Kings Arms in Whitwick.

The group has been established using funding from the NHS Charities Together to encourage people to meet up and reduce isolation amongst vulnerable adults in the community.

Attendees played darts, cards and board games and will be meeting on the last Thursday of every month.

Bev Cowley, Head of Community Development said "We are thrilled to be able to offer a wide range of activities and events including this one. It is so important that the vulnerable adults in our community are able to meet up with friends and enjoy social activities again" she went on "People have really missed getting together and it really is a case of being back to basics, people who came along had a great time catching up".

The objective of the group is for people to meet up regularly, some come to this group from the Boccia group at Christ Church in Coalville which is held every Thursday just before the Friends of Enrych session. Boccia will be moving to Hermitage Leisure Centre which is just across the road from the Kings Arms which will make it much easier for everyone to enjoy both sessions.
