Mosaic Workshop Plans to Bring People Together

A brand new Mosaic Art Worskhop will take place at the Enrych Offices on Thursday 9th September to encourage people to come out after lockdown and enjoy learning a new  skill whilst making new friends in the community.

The new NHS funded CasCAID project will be providing a range of activities over the next two years to improve the general and mental health and wellbeing of vulnerable adults in the community.

For more than 35 years Enrych has supported adults with disabilities and poor mental health and in particular those who are socially isolated.

Bev Cowley, Head of Community Development said "The lockdowns have had a huge impact on people's mental health and wellbeing and with our programme of activities we are hoping to reduce social isolation for those who are most vulnerable," Bev explained "At Enrych we work hard to ensure everyone is included in the activities and that they all provide a safe place to be yourself and chat openly, this is so important right now after months of not going out, we are positive that some new friendships will develop to encourage people to be more confident about being back out and about".

The Mosaic Art Workshop will be run by local Mosaic Artist Llynda Baugh who has produced several pieces of art in Hugglescote and Ashby and who is currently working on a mosiac for Hugglescote Primary School. Llynda said "It will be great to get people working together and having a chat, they can learn how to make a mosaic on the day and will be able to take their master piece home to enjoy for many months to come".
