Success for Second Picnic In The Park

A group of PAs and those they supported were blessed with warm Autumn sunshine when they gathered in Queen's Park in Loughborough for the second Enrych Party in The Park last week.

PAs and anyone interested in coming along, were invited to bring their lunch and a chair and make new friends and enjoy a free fresh cream cake.

Bev Cowley, Head of Community Development said "We are working hard to reduce social isolation in the community and opportunities like this one are perfect to get people together who have been unable to do so for months during the lockdowns". Bev added "The weather is perfect today and everyone is enjoying having a chat and making friends which is what this is all about".

Enrych were awarded funding from NHS Charities Together in July for their CasCAID project which is to reduce social isolation and to improve the general and mental health and wellbeing of vulnerable adults in the community.

Bev went on "We actively ancourage adults living with disabilities and poor mental health to get out and talk to other people who are also feeling isolated, our PA Support Service empowers those we serve to lead full, active and happy lives and being able to offer days like today means they get together and talk which is so important".

Belle, an Enrych PA, came to the event with a lady she supports who has a learning disability said "The lady I support has absolutely loved today, she has been asking me for weeks when the picnic was and she has enjoyed coming along and chatting to everyone, it has really lifted her spirits meeting new people and I have loved meeting other Enrych PAs too".
