Creative, Confident and Connected: Lauren’s Enrych Journey

Lauren who has been part of the Enrych community for around six years.

What began as a chance to try new activities and gain more independence has become a meaningful part of Lauren’s life. After moving back to Leicestershire from Shropshire, Enrych helped her reconnect with her local community while also giving her parents some time for themselves. Through taking part in activities, Lauren has met new people and has built strong friendships in a welcoming and supportive environment.

Lauren enjoys creative activities, particularly pixel art and needle felting. She loves making felted wreaths and creating artwork on canvas using needle felting techniques. At home, she also spends time with her two dogs, Millie and Ruby, who are a big part of her life.

She also attends Enrych’s wellbeing activities; Boccia and the Feel Good Café, where she enjoys participating, helping out, meeting new people and socialising. As well as this Lauren loves to attend Sam’s Friday group and often goes out for lunch with the group.

Those around her have seen her confidence and independence flourish, and Lauren herself feels that Enrych has helped her truly blossom.

“Enrych has given me a purpose. I used to be at home a lot, but now I have things to look forward to every week.”

To celebrate 40 years of Enrych, Lauren created 40 pixel artworks, showcasing her creativity and dedication to the community she is proud to be part of.
