Meet Paul

Paul is a London-born family man who now calls Leicestershire home. Having lived in several places throughout his life, including London and Spain, Paul experienced a major life change when he found himself living alone for the first time following the loss of his mum. With much of his family based in London and Spain, Paul began spending more time at home on his own. Moving to Leicestershire has been a positive change for Paul, who values the friendliness of the local community and enjoys the quieter pace of life compared to London.

Before joining Enrych, Paul’s days were often spent indoors with limited opportunities for social interaction. While Paul enjoys chatting with his neighbours, this becomes much harder during the winter months when he is unable to sit outside in the garden and socialise. During these times in particular, Paul found himself spending long periods alone at home, with little to break up his week.

Paul was referred to Enrych through his local County Councillor Cherry. He decided to get involved as a way to access support in his day-to-day life and to help break up the week with positive activities and companionship.

Through Enrych, Paul receives regular support with practical tasks such as shopping, as well as time out in the community. He is supported by Beckie and Laura, who he describes as kind, lovely, and easy to get on with. Their support has become an important part of Paul’s routine, offering not only practical help but also genuine companionship.

Enrych has made a big difference to Paul’s life. Having consistent support and strong relationships with his support workers has helped reduce isolation and given his week more structure.

Reflecting on his experience, Paul says, “Having Enrych has made a big difference to me. Beckie and Laura are great company and lovely to chat with.”

Looking ahead, Paul is happy with the support he receives and hopes things continue just as they are. With Enrych continuing to support him, Paul feels settled, supported, and positive about the future.
